
Alfredo Parra, PhD
Alfredo is the Director of ClusterFree, the organization behind ClusterInfo. He also publishes research on cluster headache and other conditions causing intense suffering.
Between 2017 and 2023, he worked in management and operations for two nonprofits focused on mitigating risks from artificial intelligence. In 2015, he co-founded the Effective Altruism Munich group and developed an interest in consciousness and suffering-focused ethics. He has been a member of Giving What We Can since 2016, donating to effective organizations dedicated to alleviating suffering.
Alfredo has a bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from Tec de Monterrey, Mexico, and a master's degree and a PhD in Computational Science from the Technical University of Munich. His academic publications span mathematical optics, high-performance computing, health economics, and the metaphysics of consciousness, among others.
